Coursework
Coursework in the Avery Hill Specification comprises two items totalling 25% of the final assessment. The Study is a piece of extended investigative writing exploring a hypothesis. It is worth 15%. The Cross-Unit Task is worth 10% of the assessment, and synthesises Key Ideas from both human and physical Specification Units.
The size of each item reflects the modest time allocation of 8 hours classroom time for the write-up of the Study and 4 hours for the Cross-Unit Task.
The coursework packages of all centres are validated by their Consultative Moderator annually and the students' work is sampled by a Coursework Moderator in March of the year of examination. A school's Consultative Moderator and Coursework Moderator are different people.
All administration details are located in the specification. If you have any issues regarding coursework contact Andrew Williams at the WJEC
