Innovation 2011
This prestigious event is a showcase exhibition and competition for the most innovative project work at A Level and GCSE in Design & Technology. The exhibition will be held in the Autumn term in both north and south Wales
The purpose of the event is to encourage young people to be technologically innovative and appreciate the importance of both design and technology. This is vital to Wales’ future prosperity as set out in the Welsh Assembly Government’s Science Policy.
The exhibition will give industrialists, teachers and students the opportunity to see some of the best work of students aged 16 to 18 in Wales. All centres in Wales entering students for WJEC examinations in Design and Technology are automatically eligible. Visiting moderators and teachers will nominate projects for inclusion in the exhibition. The event will showcase 80 of students’ most innovative A2, AS and GCSE projects. A team of distinguished judges will select winning A level, AS Level and GCSE projects and choose an overall winner from all three categories.
There will also be prizes for the project displaying the most potential for Intellectual Property protection; Creativity; Use of CAD/CAM; and Sustainability.
