Outline of the activity
The class had been on a visit to the iron age hill fort at Castell Henllys.  Children entered their preferred activities on a database and produced graphs of the results.

Skills Covered
Introduction to databases and fields, learning to interrogate the database and producing graphs.  Mathematical work on preferred activities and language work in discussions. The above were developed through the history topic.

Rationale
The database gave more immediate and flexible analysis of the information.  Skills acquired could be transferred to other situations in other topics.

Result
Pupils produce a database of information with graphs and a text analysis of some of the main features.
