An author visits
Outline of the activity
The school had a visit from the author ‘Jenny Sullivan’. She worked with all classes throughout the school. The children produced various forms of poetry and recorded it in various formats.
Skills Covered
The children recorded their work in a variety of formats. Some used PowerPoint, others Publisher. The skills used were various; obtaining clips online, importing clipart, borders, text style, moving and re-sizing boxes, saving and retrieving work.
Rationale
The visiting author provided the children with lots of stimulating literature and ideas. The work produced was of a very high standard, the children used ICT to enhance the presentation of their work.
Result
The children produced a whole range of colourful patterns and designs which created a very eye catching class display. They became extremely confident in the use of the Art package and demonstrated that they could save, load and make changes to their designs.
