Living Books

Outline of the activity
The pupil was practising using switch technology and interacting with a known piece of software

Skills Covered
The pupil was using living books and switch games to encourage using the switch technology to get a deliberate response or action into the computer. The software requires the pupil to respond in a certain way and within a certain time in this case to ‘burst’ the balloons with each click.

Rationale
This activity encourages the pupil to actively participate and engage with it.  The pupil learns the importance of watching and commanding the program to get the required response which is a vital skill for later, more advanced switch programmes.

Result
An example of the balloon screen from the switch games program.
