Picasso Guernica
Outline of the activity
The class had studied the work of Pablo Picasso, in particular the painting entitled ‘Guernica’. The picture was recreated in a variety of formats, particularly using IT.
Skills Covered
The children learnt how to open the program, save and retrieve their work. They required precise mouse control to create the detailed picture. The children also learned how to use the tools that are offered on this program, such as ‘fill’ , ‘drag’, ‘zoom’, and ‘spray’.
Rationale
This activity leant itself to various related curriculum areas. The lesson was primarily art based but made links to Language work and a creative link with I.T. The display that was created from this lesson was very impressive.
