Outline of the activity
Children research the solar system, use an art package and a word processor to produce information sheets on the planets.
Skills Covered
A number of IT skills are developed here - opening files, retrieving information, saving and printing. Pupils also cut, paste and delete to produce their final pages. Language and scientific knowledge are also reinforced.
Rationale
The computer allows the pupils to put together a high quality information sheet and encourages drafting and redrafting as well as précis skills.
Result
Final sheets can be printed.
