Changing the font Year 2 pupils use basic facilities on their word processor to change font type, size and colour.
Dinosaur research Working on a mini-project on Dinosaurs the children used the CD ROM to research information.
Environmental project The website produced by schools provides an effective focus for pupil work on an agreed theme.
Getting to school The children collected data using tally charts and then input their data into Starting Graph.
Sandwiches Pupils sample sandwiches, carry out a survey to decide which ones to provide for their Christmas Party.
Solar system Literacy session. Class studying the solar system as part of their science scheme.
Seasons Calendar Pupils in a Year 3 class create their Christmas Calendar using the computer to present the poem they wrote with added pictures from clip art.
Class news The children decided to create a half termly newsletter to keep parents informed of the activities that were taking place in school.
Multimedia Record of Achievement Linked multimedia pages include sound files, images from digital cameras and scanners. It could be kept by the children or passed on to their chosen secondary school for further development.
Our pets Pupils carry out a survey to find out what pets they have at home. Using the stamps facility in their drawing program, they create a simple pictogram and a sets diagram.
Potato face Using free program downloaded from the internet, pupils are encouraged to develop their IT skills (dragging and dropping, mouse control)
Teddy Bear's passport The activity allows the children to develop a wide range of key skills in an exciting, interesting context.
The Usk Valley A class project which addresses the important issue of audience when writing. The brochure is designed for maximum effectiveness.
House of the future Working on a project to design a house for the new Millennium, the children develop a wide range of skills involving communicating and handling information in realistic contexts.
Posters, Identity badges and Calling cards An impending visit by important guests provides the stimulus for the Poster making and Identity Badges and this leads to discussions on the use of Calling Cards. The children apply many previously learned IT skills.
Famous sons and daughters Children searched the internet for famous people who were born in their locality.
