Transfer of Energy
Secondary foci: Peer Assessment, DTaAfL,
How was it used?
Our Yr 8 pupils used the interactive resource on Food Webs from the NGfL Cymru website to revise about transfer of energy in living things
Then, they used Movie Maker to create stop motion animation movies to communicate what they had learned. The videos were uploaded on our Scienceatcroesy website, so they could be reviewed by their parents.
Impact and Outcomes
- Pupils enjoyed the activity and understood the energy transfers.
- Learners were able provide constructive feedback to their peers.
- Videos were uploaded on YouTube and discussed with parents during parents evening.
- Pupils’ ICT skills improved and were able to use Multimedia tools effectively.
- The repertoire of communication skills has increased in our learners and they now know they can present through a wider variety of tools.
